Adani Group Denies Involvement in Silkyara Tunnel Collapse

In response to recent speculation, the Adani Group has unequivocally stated that it has no direct or indirect connection to the construction of the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand. The tunnel, part of the Char Dham all-weather accessibility project, has been in the headlines due to the tragic incident where 41 construction workers have been trapped for over two weeks since its collapse on November 12.

In an official statement, a spokesperson for the Adani Group clarified, “We clarify with utmost emphasis that the Adani group or any of its subsidiaries has no direct or indirect involvement of any kind in the tunnel’s construction.” The statement also emphasized that the conglomerate does not own or hold any shares in the company responsible for the construction, which is Hyderabad-based Navayuga Engineering Company Limited.

The collapse occurred 260 meters inside the Silkyara-Barkot tunnel following a landslide. The Adani Group expressed deep concern for the trapped workers, offering thoughts and prayers for their well-being and expressing solidarity with their families during this challenging time.

Strongly condemning any attempt to associate the Adani Group with the tunnel collapse, the spokesperson stated, “We also clarify that we do not own or hold any shares in the company involved in the tunnel’s construction.” The group urged against spreading misinformation and emphasized their focus on the well-being of the trapped workers.

As the rescue efforts continue to unfold, the Adani Group aims to dispel any misleading connections to the unfortunate incident, reiterating their commitment to transparency and accountability in their business operations.
