Transition Phase Caution:
This marks the first occurrence of stock exchanges shifting trading operations from primary sites to disaster recovery (DR) sites in the midst of a live trading session. The exchange has cautioned about the potential cancellation of executed trades during this transition phase. In the event of such a situation, closed positions from the first session will be reinstated, requiring subsequent exit in the second session.
Intraday Trading Restrictions:
• Intraday trading is restricted in the special Saturday session due to expected lower trading volumes.
• With reduced volumes, wider spreads may occur, posing a risk of potential losses during auto square-offs.
• Exchanges have enforced a 5% lower price band for all stocks, including those in the derivative segment.
• This raises the likelihood of stocks hitting upper/lower circuits, creating the potential for open long or short positions by the end of the second trading session.
• Such scenarios, including square-offs, are not in the best interest of investors. Stay informed and exercise caution during this special trading session.
