Downdetector Shows Sharp Spike in Complaints
According to outage-tracking platform Downdetector, reports rose sharply within a few hours. Complaints increased from around 3,500 to more than 11,000, indicating a rapidly spreading disruption.

Users Report Buffering, Slow Loading and Access Failures
Many users said YouTube videos were taking unusually long to load, buffering repeatedly or failing to play altogether. Others reported being unable to access the YouTube website or mobile app, while Google Search results were loading slowly or not appearing at all.
Multiple Google Services Affected
Downdetector data showed complaints across YouTube, Google Search and YouTube TV, suggesting issues across multiple Google-owned services rather than a single product failure.
Outage Eases in UK and Canada
Earlier today, outage reports in the UK fell sharply to around 70 from over 3,000, indicating a rapid recovery. Canada also saw services restored quickly, according to data from the website that tracks outages by aggregating user reports from multiple sources.
YouTube Outage Largely Resolved Globally
