President Trump to Send Offensive Weapons to Ukraine in Major Policy Shift

President Donald Trump is preparing to announce a major change in U.S. policy toward the war in Ukraine. According to sources who spoke to Axios, Trump plans to approve offensive weapons for Ukraine — including long-range missiles that could reach deep into Russian territory, even Moscow.

This marks a big shift from Trump’s earlier stance, where the U.S. only sent defensive weapons to avoid further escalating the war. Now, sources say Trump is becoming more aggressive in his approach to punish Russia for continued attacks on Ukraine.

Senator Lindsey Graham told Axios,

> “President Trump is really angry at Putin. Monday’s announcement will be very tough.”

While the exact list of weapons is still being finalized, the move shows a sharp turn in U.S. policy. The White House has not officially confirmed the details yet.

Trump: “A Major Announcement Coming Monday”

On Friday, President Trump confirmed that he will make a major announcement about Russia on Monday. In an interview, he criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin for targeting Ukrainian cities and said the U.S. will now buy weapons from NATO allies to quickly support Ukraine.

He also mentioned that the U.S. Senate is likely to pass strong new sanctions against Russia — but said he alone will decide whether and when to use them.

U.S. Bill Targets Buyers of Russian Oil

In addition, a new U.S. bill proposes a 500% tariff on goods imported from countries that continue to buy oil from Russia. The bill is aimed especially at India and China, which are two of Russia’s biggest oil customers.

Lawmakers say the goal is to cut Russia’s income from oil exports, which it uses to fund its war in Ukraine.

EU Approves €2.3 Billion Aid Package for Ukraine

Meanwhile, the European Union has announced a €2.3 billion aid package for Ukraine. The money will help Ukraine recover from war damage and continue its path toward joining the EU. The EU says this support is crucial for Ukraine’s stability and long-term future.
