Chevron Advances Plans to Power Data Centers Using Natural Gas

Chevron is taking steps to power data centers by developing its own electricity sources. The company has started the approval and planning process for multiple locations in the U.S., where it aims to build these facilities and produce the necessary energy, according to Reuters.

Oil companies are increasingly moving into the power generation business. Last year, both Chevron and Exxon Mobil revealed plans to generate electricity for data centers, mainly using natural gas from their own supplies. Traditionally, these energy giants have focused on producing power only for their own needs.
