A total of 23 new open ended mutual fund schemes were launched in December 2025. These new funds collectively mobilized Rs 4,074 crore.
Category Wise Breakup of New Schemes
- Debt and Income Oriented Funds: 1 scheme raised Rs 34 crore
- Equity Oriented Funds: 5 schemes raised Rs 3,568 crore
- Hybrid Funds: 2 schemes raised Rs 302 crore
- Other Schemes including Index Funds and ETFs: 15 schemes raised Rs 170 crore
The highest investor interest was seen in equity oriented funds, especially flexi cap, sectoral, and small cap categories.

ETF and Index Fund Trends in December 2025
Passive investing continues to gain popularity in India.
- Index funds recorded net inflows of Rs 1,730 crore
- Gold ETFs saw strong inflows of Rs 11,646 crore
- Other ETFs recorded net inflows of Rs 13,199 crore
Gold ETFs benefited from global uncertainty and currency volatility, making them a preferred hedge.
Close Ended and Interval Schemes Summary
Close ended schemes had limited activity and recorded a small net outflow.
