An Air Busan flight caught fire on Tuesday at Gimhae International Airport in Busan, South Korea. All 169 passengers and seven crew members were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported, according to Yonhap News Agency.
An Air Busan aircraft caught fire at around 10:30 PM local time while it was on the ground at the airport. Flames were reported to have started near the tail section of the plane. Emergency protocols were immediately activated, ensuring the safe evacuation of all passengers and crew. Thankfully, no one was injured, and there were no fatalities in the incident.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire to determine what triggered the blaze. While the situation was alarming, the swift response by emergency teams ensured the safety of everyone on board.
This incident comes just a month after South Korea witnessed its worst aviation disaster in decades. A Jeju Air flight from Bangkok crashed during an emergency belly landing at Muan Airport, leaving 179 of the 181 people on board dead.
Air Busan, a budget airline, operates as part of Asiana Airlines. Asiana was recently acquired by Korean Air in a deal finalized last December.
